So I cannot perform a recovery because I have no HD to recover to. I can boot into MacOS recovery, but the computer no longer recognizes the hard disk. I rejected the offer and they sent the computer back.the computer is fucked. I knew this had to be bullshit since this was my daily computer for years and I had just wiped the computer of my personal data, so that when they turned it on, they'd be at the 'set up your new Mac screen' which is what Apple suggests and what Phobio support TOLD ME TO DO when I asked them to be sure. The trade in process went fine until I got an email saying my computer was going to be worth less than half what it was originally quoted to be worth because 'The inspected device's operating system does not load or function properly'. I sent my 2013 rMBP to Phobio, Apple's official trade in partner to get some cash after purchasing a new Mac.
